We are a new organisation but have a real desire to help others who are suffering trauma. We will be most happy to receive any suggestions as to how to grow the service, and also how to fill the gaps that families are looking for. So please feel free to email and we will certainly take these suggestions on board and if at all possible, will look to implement them in due course.
Realistic and practical support
Families in Trauma was set up to offer realistic and practical support to families who have found themselves dealing with a traumatic experience and are struggling to know where to turn.
Often, when traumatic experiences strike, families can feel isolated as their family and friends are at a loss as to how to support them. Although GP’s, counsellors and other mental health professionals offer assistance, often this is an academic experience for them, as they have not personally suffered the trauma within their own families. So although, there is well intentioned offers of help, there is often no real practical assistance.
Families in Trauma will initially offer free resources for download but will also be offering audio and video recordings of families who have gone through traumatic experiences and lived these in the ‘real’ world. These painful experiences, will hopefully offer some assistance to other families and also to professionals who are working in the field of trauma.
Real Life Experiences
Please get in touch if you would like to be interviewed and are happy for your experience to be included on the website. Personal details can be excluded, as it is more important to share the personal experiences so that others can be helped. Your wishes will be respected.
