Our Directors are a valuable part of our team - we have chosen them carefully. We want members of the public as well as other organisations to have confidence in us and our Board - so each member has very specific skills and experience they are bringing to us so that hopefully you will see the result of their hard work.
Maggie is the founder of Families in Trauma and Recovery, and felt impelled to try to fill a gap in what she experienced when facing difficult family trauma, and there seemed to be no where to turn at that point. For her, lived experience and peer support were literally "superpowers" that should be tapped into and used not only for personal benefit but for the sake of anyone else facing really challenging times. Maggie's background is as a community filmmaker, so is also passionate about using digital when it serves a valuable purpose. But laterally she combined those skills with setting up this social enterprise which has been a huge learning curve. However, as "Building Alliance, not Compliance" is the motto - Maggie is determine to make sure this "way of being" is taken forward in all the organisation does.
Anne is one of longest serving members of our board and also offers her own expertise in the role of volunteer. Although retired, Anne has a long-standing eminent background in academia, and also draws from her own lived experience to support the strategic direction of the organisation, but also brings great empathy to all her many volunteering roles. We are fortunate to have her.
Maggie is one of our directors and brings considerable experience to our board, especially as she works within an academic setting delivering business and entrepreneurship studies with a real passion for community development. Maggie also brings her own lived experience to the board and is able to empathise and draw on her own experience to guide the strategic direction of the organisation. We are very grateful she chooses to share this knowledge and learning with us as it is so valuable in moving the organisation forward in the right direction.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. We are more than happy to help in any way we can.
