Lived Experience

Using our lived experience is now being recognised as a valuable way to be able to support others - and a way of humanising health care. We all have mental health - and sometimes is it good and sometimes it is bad . This is not a new phenomenon - it is just called being human, and is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it would be a rare person who has never had difficulties to face in life! But when we can use our "lived experience" in a safe way, we can give genuine support to others, even when we do not have a "clinical" hat on.

Listen to a few of the individuals that we have interviewed and who have kindly allowed us to use their experiences to help others.

Again we have Lyndsey who shared her experience with us of navigating how to deal with a still birth.

This is a very poignant interview and although it is very sensitively spoken about, be aware also that it may trigger some individuals.

But by the same token it can also be helpful to those who are going through this situation.
